The much loved book series by Trenton Lee Stewart arrives on Disney+ today, as Season 1 of The Mysterious Benedict Society kicks off with a two-episode premiere. I had the honor of working with director James Bobin on the pilot episode, written by creators Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay, who joined forces with my wonderful Shadowhunters Executive Producers Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer.
This is a one-of-a-kind approach to the material that remains true to Stewart’s story while adding a visual style evocative of Wes Anderson’s films, made with humor, intelligence, and charm that works for all ages.
