Nominated: The Mysterious Benedict Society

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has just announced nominees for the first annual Children and Family Emmys®, and season 1 of The Mysterious Benedict Society has come out tied for the highest number – with 11 nominations in total – including Best Editing:

  • Outstanding Young Teen Series
  • Outstanding Writing for a Young Teen Program
  • Outstanding Directing for a Single Camera Program
  • Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Live Action Program
  • Outstanding Cinematography for a Live Action Single Camera Program
  • Outstanding Editing for a Single Camera Program
  • Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing for a Live Action Program
  • Outstanding Visual Effects for a Live Action Program
  • Outstanding Main Title and Graphics
  • Outstanding Art Direction / Set Decoration / Scenic Design
  • Outstanding Costume Design / Styling

The nomination in the editing category is deservedly shared among the team, including me and fellow editors Plummy Tucker and Wendy Tzeng, who did outstanding work.

The Creative Arts ceremony (which includes Best Editing) will take place on Saturday, December 10th, followed by the main Children’s and Family Emmys® ceremony on Sunday, December 11th.
